End of year summary about the Discussion Forums of Eagle Hill

Considered from the elusive standpoint that the Discussion Forums of Eagle Hill all truly touch upon "aspects of the biology of humans", they provide much-needed opportunities for those among us who choose to appreciate learning how aspects of national and global affairs are much more nuanced than conveyed in the media. When further considered from the standpoint that the Forums touch upon aspects of potential diplomacy, they are well positioned to contribute in meaningful ways toward an understanding of how internecine tendencies among humans are so seemingly naturally persistent.

We are taking precious end-of-year time to consolidate what we have learned from our presenters and participants and have been working on re-envisaging how the Forums can evolve. During the past few weeks, we have been revising the pitch of their webpages and have been adding much-needed new webpages. By browsing ... eaglehill.us/forums ... You will see that there is much that is new that is worthy of your consideration.

Our newest innovation this year was hosting Forums that serve as Regional Portals that allow us to meet in-person over Zoom with people in other regions of the world that are otherwise inscrutable for us, other than by the way media presents them. This year's Portals allowed us experiene the deeply human and deeply moving perspectives of people living within Gaza, Cairo, and Tel Aviv. These Portals have set the precedent for opening Portals into other regions.

We have also added a Volunteers webpage to recognize those who are making special efforts to help us in various ways to orchestrate the Forums. Thia page has a link to a webpage that lists diverse opportunities for those who might like to consider volunteering. What are your special interests and social goals with regard to the national and global affairs, and diplomacy?

We are committed to exploring potentials for expanding the scope of our Forums, possibly toward more formally organized events such as seminars, symposia, and in-residence group retreats. We are working with a global architectural firm that is keenly interested in developing plans for the construction of a multi-mission cultural center on the western slope of Eagle Hill. The design of the cultural center anticipates settings that will allow us to hosting such events.

Lastly, we added a Donors webpage which recognizes those who make donations for the Forums, with the goal of raising funds to support a part-time staff position to help us expand our commitment to hosting a diversity of Forums.

We welcome your comments, suggestions and questions. Please donate.

Thank you. Joerg-Henner Lotze, Director. joerg@eaglehill.us. 718-715-2824
