Volunteers play a key role in helping out in many ways to ensure that each year's conference includes an array of interesting and engaging offerings and runs as smoothly as possible.
Those interested in working with us from the early stages of organizing the upcoming year's conference are welcome to join our Program Committee. Helping to recruit appropriate workshops, fieldtrips, or other special events as well as assisting in gathering/compiling other resources (e.g., lists of things to do near the venue location for in-person conferences) are among the many ways a person can play a role as a valued member of the Program Committee.
This year, student poster presentations will be judged in 2 separate groupings: all avian-related student posters will be evaluated by representatives of WOS and AFO, while the NENHC Poster Judging Committee will be reviewing all remaining student posters and awarding cash prizes to those deemed to be the most outstanding. Those with ornithological expertise interested in helping judge the bird-themed posters, should contact XXXX. Those interested in helping judge all of the non-ornithological posters should contact Carmen Greenwood (greenwcm@Cobleskill.edu)
Each year we have a need for a limited number of volunteers to help out during the conference. The most critical need is for Tech Support, and for those comfortable and experienced with technology and willing to commit to a full day of volunteer within sessions helping the moderators ensure that all goes smoohtly, we offer reimbursement of their conference fees. If you are interested in serving as a Tech Support Volunteer, please mark the checkbox on Part I of your registration form to indicate that interest. Among those qualified, preference is given to students and early professionals and those who sign up early.
For in-person conferences, we also welcome other forms of assistance such as with set-up and take-down just prior to and at the end of the main conference days and staffing the registration table.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
